Technique
Whether you choose to play piano or keyboard the same techniques generally apply to both instruments. Building up a good left hand right hand co-ordination takes time. However, with proper care in the beginning, your technique can be slowly worked on, thus avoiding making mistakes that become difficult to rectify later on.
Piano & Keyboard Lessons
There are many ways to approach teaching the piano/keyboard. It is my belief that students can get bogged down with too much theory in the beginning. This I find can have a negative affect on the student.
Therefore, I like to keep piano lessons as simple as possible until they are ready to move on. As a tutor, I create a fun and light hearted environment to help my students feel relaxed and comfortable whilst learning.
Each lesson is tailor made to you. There is no hurry to learn anything by a set time. You work at your own pace.
Music Theory
With all my instrument lessons I include a little music theory here and there where it is appropriate.
Amaze your friends and family. There is a wealth of great piano/keyboard pieces to play.
